How to Copy a Clinical Note in Wavo Health

Wavo Health gives you multiple ways to copy your documentation, whether you need the entire note, a specific section, a subsection, or just a few lines of text.

Copy the Entire Note

Use this option when you want to copy the complete clinical note.

  1. Open the note you would like to copy.

  2. Click Copy All in the note toolbar.

  3. Paste the note into your EHR, document, email, or other destination.

This copies the entire note in a single action.

Copy a Section

Need only a specific section, such as Assessment, Plan, History of Present Illness (HPI), or Medications?

  1. Locate the section heading within the note.

  2. Click the Copy icon beside the section title.

  3. Paste the copied content where needed.

Wavo copies that section along with all content contained within it.

Copy a Subsection

Many note templates contain smaller subsections within larger sections.

  1. Locate the subsection you want to copy.

  2. Click the Copy icon beside the subsection heading.

  3. Paste the copied content into your destination.

This is useful when you only need a specific portion of a section rather than the entire section.

Copy Selected Text

If you only need a sentence, paragraph, or small portion of the note:

  1. Highlight the text you want to copy.

  2. A floating toolbar will appear.

  3. Click Copy Selected.

  4. Paste the content where needed.

You can also use standard keyboard shortcuts after selecting text:

  • Mac: Command (⌘) + C

  • Windows: Ctrl + C

Troubleshooting

I don't see the Copy icon

The Copy icon appears beside supported section and subsection headings. If you don't see it:

  1. Refresh the page.

  2. Reopen the note.

  3. Ensure the note has fully loaded.

The floating toolbar doesn't appear

Make sure you're selecting text directly within the note editor.

If the toolbar still doesn't appear, use your keyboard shortcut instead:

  • Mac: Command (⌘) + C

  • Windows: Ctrl + C

My formatting looks different after pasting

Some EHRs and external applications automatically remove formatting when content is pasted.

If formatting appears different:

  • Try pasting as plain text.

  • Use the formatting tools available in your EHR or destination application.

  • Verify whether your EHR supports rich-text formatting.
