Wavo can use saved pronouns as an instruction when it generates and edits clinical documentation. You can store pronouns on a patient record for reuse or set one of the available choices on a specific web encounter.
Best practice: Confirm pronouns with the patient or an authoritative record, and review the generated note before adding it to the chart.
Save pronouns on a patient record
This is the best option when you want pronouns available across the patient's encounters.
On the website
Open the patient's folder, or create a patient from Assign to Patient.
Edit the patient information.
Enter the patient's pronouns in Pronouns.
Save the patient.
Assign the patient to the encounter.
On iPhone or Android
Open the menu and tap Patients.
Create a patient or open an existing patient and tap Edit.
Enter the patient's pronouns in Pronouns (for example, he/him, she/her, or they/them).
Tap Save.
Assign that patient to the encounter.
Patient changes sync between web and mobile when you are online.
Choose pronouns for one web encounter
Open or create the encounter on the website.
In the encounter toolbar, select Pronouns.
Choose he/him, she/her, or they/them.
This updates the pronoun instruction on that encounter. The native mobile app does not currently show this encounter-level selector; edit the patient record on mobile instead.
Pronouns guide the AI but do not replace review. Correct any mistakes in the generated note. If you change pronouns after a note has already been generated, edit the note or reprocess it so the new instruction can be applied.
